Handyman Repairs in Friday Harbor & San Juan Island

Drywall, trim, hardware, shelving, flat-pack furniture. The list you keep meaning to get to.

  • Licensed & bonded
  • WA L&I #SANJUJI741OT
  • Insured
  • Locally owned in Friday Harbor

This is the bread and butter — the accumulated list of small things that never quite justify calling a contractor but slowly make a house annoying to live in.

Drywall patches from a door handle or a failed anchor. Trim that’s separated. Cabinet doors out of alignment. Towel bars and closet rods pulling out of the wall. Shelving that needs to go into studs and not drywall. Flat-pack furniture that arrived on the ferry in nine boxes.

Island houses have their own version of this list. Salt air is hard on hardware, and seasonal humidity swings move doors and trim around more than they do on the mainland. Most of what I fix, I’ve fixed before on a house within two miles of yours.

$250 minimum visit, which covers up to two hours. After that it’s $85/hour, billed in quarter-hour increments. Materials at cost plus pickup. Washington sales tax applies to the total. Full breakdown on the handyman pricing page.

The minimum is why it pays to save up a list. Two hours goes a long way when I’m already there with the tools out.

Common questions

Do I need to be home?

No. Plenty of clients leave a key or a code and a list on the counter. You’ll get photos when I’m done.

Can you get the materials?

Yes. I pick up from Browne’s or bring it over on the ferry if it’s not on-island. Materials are billed at cost plus pickup time.

How far out are you booking?

Usually within the week. Summer runs longer. Call and I’ll give you a real date, not a maybe.
